Business and Events Tourism Cooperation Network Meeting – Progress Review and Next Steps

May 31, 2025

The cooperation network meeting brought together members, partners, and researchers to discuss the project's development progress and future activities. At the meeting, researchers from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Turība University, and the Baltic International Academy presented interim reports on the progress of the research for the cooperation network's product development.

The presentations detailed recent achievements and highlighted the main benefits, challenges, and risks associated with the future course of work. This information allowed all participants to gain a clearer understanding of the project's development and fostered a constructive discussion about necessary improvements and future steps.

The project implementation team, together with the cooperation network members, assessed the progress made so far, agreeing on priorities and a future work plan to ensure the successful achievement of goals and effective collaboration.

Gunta Ušpele, the head of the Health Tourism Cluster, drew special attention at the meeting, providing valuable insights into the operation and importance of cooperation networks in the development of business and events tourism. Her experience and recommendations served as a significant impetus for future activities.

Regular meetings and exchanges of experience of this kind strengthen the cooperation network, promote the development of innovative solutions, and support the competitiveness of Latvian entrepreneurs in the international market.

The Latvian Convention Bureau is implementing the project "Business and Events Tourism Cooperation Network" (project No. 1.2.3.6/2/24/A/007), with the goal of creating and implementing a structured business cooperation network. The project is carried out under the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme for 2021–2027, providing significant support to Latvian companies and organisations operating in the business and events tourism sector.
