The Development of an Event Sustainability Assessment Platform

April 22, 2026

Work is steadily progressing on the development of an event sustainability assessment platform within the Business & Event Tourism Cooperation Network.

As part of this process, project partners gathered for a dedicated working session to review the platform's website functionality and content in detail. The meeting provided an opportunity to test key features, evaluate the user journey, and discuss how information is structured and presented. Particular attention was given to ensuring that the platform is intuitive, accessible, and adaptable to the diverse needs of event organizers across different segments.

During the session, partners also exchanged insights on sustainability criteria, data collection methods, and reporting formats. The goal is to create a practical tool that not only helps measure the environmental, social, and economic impact of events, but also offers clear guidance for improvement and benchmarking over time.

This collaborative effort marks an important step toward more responsible, transparent, and data-driven event planning within the industry. By equipping organizers with a reliable assessment framework, the platform aims to support long-term sustainability goals and encourage best practices across the sector.

Further development and testing will continue in the coming months, with updates to follow as the platform evolves.

Latvia Convention bureau is implementing the project "Business and Event Tourism Cooperation Network" (Project No. 1.2.3.6/2/24/A/007) for the creation and implementation of a business cooperation network. The project is carried out within the framework of the European Union Cohesion Policy Program for 2021–2027.
