Driving Sustainability in the Events Industry

As part of the Business and Event Tourism Cooperation Network, work is underway to develop a new and important product for the industry – the Event Sustainability Assessment Platform.
The aim of the platform is to help event organisers assess the sustainability of their events, identify areas for improvement, and encourage the implementation of practical, environmentally and socially responsible solutions in event organisation, thereby contributing to the export potential and international visibility of participating businesses.
At the working group meeting held on 27 August, project participants reviewed the progress made in developing the platform, discussed its functionality and provided recommendations for further improvement. The experience and feedback of participants are an essential part of the development process, ensuring that the final solution is practical, user-friendly and aligned with the real needs of the industry.
The recommendations gathered during the meeting will be evaluated and, where possible, incorporated into the further development of the platform. This collaborative approach helps create a product that is not merely a theoretical tool, but one that is practical and useful in everyday work.
The development of the platform is ongoing, and it is already clear that a useful, modern and sustainability-focused product is taking shape. In the future, it can become a valuable tool for event organisers and other industry professionals.
